Formerly called the Youth Offending Service, Birmingham Youth Justice Service changed its name in December 2024 to reduce the stigma for children who have come in to contact with the criminal justice system.
Birmingham Youth Justice Service
Birmingham Youth Justice Service works with children, young people, and their families across the city to support their needs to live a safe, positive life with an aspirational future. We are a multi-agency partnership that deliver prevention and youth justice services alongside local partners.
You might be involved with your service if you have admitted to a criminal offence or found guilty by a court. How we support you will depend on the seriousness of what’s happened and what the outcome at court was.
If you are under 18 years old, you are seen as a child within the criminal justice system. That means you are treated differently from adults. We will support you to understand what’s happened, what’s going on in your life that you might need help with, and how we can work together. We will always listen to you because you have a right to be heard.
