Welcome to Next Steps Befriending and Mentoring programme for care experienced young people aged 16-25!

This programme is aimed at reducing the number of children reporting isolation, loneliness, lack of companionship, and no opportunities to socialise!

The Next Steps befriending and mentoring programme will run until April 2025, aiming to encourage social engagement, build healthy social relationships and help you to learn to enhance your social and professional relationships skills.

After receiving feedback from young people who had a range of ideas, we as corporate parents, collaborated with several providers who can support, develop, enhance, and meet the needs of young people, focussing on four key areas:

  • Fitness, health, and wellbeing.
  • Employability, including communication skills.
  • Essential life skills, such as cooking, D.I.Y. and much more.
  • Creative skills, including podcasting, music production and much more.

Tailored programmes include:

  • Making the Change – podcasting and music production/performance.
  • ROCUP – fitness, nutrition plans, personal training and learning about having a positive mindset.
  • Journal to Dream – wellbeing sessions.
  • Aston Villa Football Club Foundation football.
  • 2 Much Passion - cooking classes

The tailored programmes will support in all aspects of life, including fitness, wellbeing, cooking, resilience, and a lot more.
