King's Trust programmes (formerly Prince's Trust)
Explore
The Explore programme in Birmingham supports 16-to-30-year-olds. It’s a programme which combines one-to-one support and group activities delivered by a dedicated team from The King’s Trust. The Explore programme is all about personal development and aimed to help motivate you to work towards a positive outcome in training, education or employment.
To take part, you must be between 16 and 30 years old and not in training, education or employment.
About the programme
Your Explore journey will start with a one-to-one induction, then you will join our fun and engaging three-day Access Course. At the beginning of the programme we will talk through your Personal Development Plan and set goals towards a positive step or an outcome in a training, education, or employment setting, or an opportunity you want to achieve.
There will be 12 key follow-on sessions and workshops for you to develop your skills which will consist of activities such as indoor climbing, boxing, bushcraft and outdoor skills, cooking, positive mindset, wellbeing and more. These sessions help you to gain and work on personal skills such as confidence, communication, Working with Others, Managing Feelings, and Setting & Achieving goals.
After key Follow on sessions, we can offer you one to one progression support for up to three months, and when in an outcome we can offer you a development award, which is funding for e.g., tools, equipment or uniform for a job, work clothes, course fees and training.
Free lunch, refreshments and snacks is provided for each session and we will reimburse your travel each day for bus/train/metro.
Start Date: Tuesday 4 March 10am-3pm
