Railway Engineering course

BMet is offering a Railway Engineering course for those that are looking to pursue a career on the track. 

The training will include an accredited qualification in Railway Engineering Maintenance, a free Personal Track Safety (PTS) qualification and Track Induction course (TIC) and a guaranteed interview with a railway employer. 

The railway sector is currently experiencing a severe skills shortage due to the demands of new projects, so now is the perfect time to start!

Location: James Watt College, Aldridge Road, Great Barr, Birmingham, B44 8NE

Course details:

  • Five week course including practical delivery at James Watt College (Monday-Thursday)
  • Specialist training with skilled tutors from industry
  • BMet will provide full PPE, sponsorship from an industry partner and a drugs, alcohol and medical screening
  • Funded PTS and TIC following completion of the course
  • Guaranteed sponsor following completion of the PTS and TIC

Candidates must: 

  • Be unemployed and in receipt of a benefit such as Jobseeker's Allowance and Universal Credit
  • Be 19+ as of 31 August 2024 and have lived in the UK for the past three years
  • Complete an initial assessment in Maths & English
