Corporate Parenting overview

What is the Corporate Parenting (CP) Board?

CP 4

The Corporate Parenting (CP) Board is a group that meets every two months to talk about issues concerning children and young people in care; it then takes steps to fix them. The CP Board also responsible for making sure that Birmingham Children's Trust Corporate Parenting Strategy is met.

The CP Board is made up of members from Birmingham Children's Trust, our Children in Care Council, our Care Leavers' Forum, elected members from Birmingham City Council and other organisations.

Each CP Board meeting focuses on one of our pledges and asks professional to come and present steps they have taken to continue to improve the lives of young people.

We also have two ‘Takeover’ Boards each year that are both produced and led by young people.
